Proverbs 28

Lioness ROAR!

How great is our God! Clear your throats and get ready to roar ladies!

There are many valuable verses in this Proverb that compare and contrast life in and outside of the will of our Father.  These verses could all be traced back to the very first verse.  Proverb 28:1 which states; The wicked flee when no man pursueth; But the righteous are bold as a lion.

When you fully understand your righteous position, right standing in Him, you can’t help but to be bold!

As we look at the first part of this verse, we see that the wicked, those without God, are fleeing even when nothing is chasing them. They are not free from fear and lack the confidence to stand, even where nothing is there to stand against. Hilarious. They lack the strength, protection, peace and promises from our Father. They have chosen to reject God’s ways and are relying on their own ways.

Whenever we step outside the lines of what we know is His will, we invite the “what if’s” to pull up a chair and camp out with us. We all know the ‘what if’ band. They sing loudly about those possibilities that never come to light, those potential things that could occur, those speculations and theories that never manifest. We’re up all night worrying and stressing because we’re working to figure out how to navigate, or guard against any worst case scenarios  or potential retaliation for something we’ve done. We’re combatting regret or are filled with anxiety as we look for the next shoe to drop. Pretty far from the bold lion image, right?

This was me before fully living for the Lord. Uncertainty lurked around every corner and in my mind it would be just a matter of time before the next catastrophe hit. Existing in a state of uneasiness as a single mom and worrying about every little thing consumed me and kept me from being positive, assured, brave, adventurous; BOLD.  I was far from the description of the righteous in this verse! I chose my way and didn’t know who I was in Him.

However, when I came to fully understand what this verse was describing, I saw who I truly was; not who I was displaying every day. He was my confidence, my bodyguard and guide, if I would allow Him to be. Resting in Him I could be bold because He was watching over me at every turn. He alone holds me in the palm of His hand and has blood-bought promises, just for me, that guarantee my victory every time!

So as we look at the comparisons and contrasts throughout the rest of these verses,  it’s easy to see that the bold, righteous ones are fully equipped to walk correctly valuing the justice, honesty and giving described in these verses.

Our confidence and every other promise of strength and guaranteed victory is right where we stand, when we stand in Him.

So ladies are you ready to join me? Let’s ROAR!

Let’s Pray

Holy Spirit, thank you for guiding us in all truth. Father God, I thank you for my beautiful sisters. I thank you for your word that says the entrance of your word gives light and understanding. We declare as your word in Proverb 28:1 takes root in our hearts, we will see ourselves as the bold women the blood of Jesus paid the price for us to be. We cast out all fear and uproot every thought of inferiority, timidity. low self-esteem and anything else blocking us from walking boldly in you at all times, no matter what we face. We release the fullness of your wisdom and understanding to help us remember who you said we are in you; RIGHTEOUS and BOLD! In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
