Crosspoint & Radiant Merger

Both churches believe God has called us to something bigger than what either church could do alone. This decision was made with the full confidence that this is the direction God has taken both churches. It’s one we’ve bathed in prayer, fasting, and scripture. At the heart of it is a strong conviction: together, we can reach more people with the Gospel, grow more disciples, and build a stronger, lasting ministry for generations to come. We’re excited about what God is doing, and we believe this is a step of faith into something incredible.

This decision is coming from a place of vision, direction and passion from the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. We’re not merging because something is wrong; we’re merging because we have the full confidence that God is calling both churches in this direction. This is a decision rooted in prayer, in listening to where we sense God leading us, and in a shared conviction that this partnership opens up greater Kingdom opportunities than either church pursuing ministry on its own.

Since its inception, Crosspoint has been a Staff Led, Elder Protected Church. That means, that our Pastors and staff lead our church family. Our elder’s board, which represents the congregation, is called the Pastoral Advisory Team (PAT). They offer wisdom, discernment, guidance, direction, and oversight to protect our church and to advise our Lead Pastor and the Executive Leadership Team. According to our By-Laws, in times of great, urgent, or significant decision, the Lead Pastor presents these great decisions to the PAT and after prayer, fasting, and extensive search in the Word of God, they vote. In the case of this decision, the PAT voted unanimously in favor for the merger. Each member had a significant peace and confidence in the Lord in this decision.

Yes. This isn’t about one church absorbing another. It’s about two churches, each shaped by what God has done through them, coming together as one family with one shared mission. We want to honor the story God has written through both Crosspoint and Radiant as we step into this next chapter together.

As our churches have gotten to know one another, we’ve discovered something beautiful: we share the same heartbeat and core DNA. Both churches deeply value biblical teaching, authentic worship, evangelism, next-generation ministry, men’s ministry, leadership development, generosity, and heart for reaching our community. This partnership doesn’t feel like combining two different things — it feels like joining two churches who’ve been pursuing the same mission all along.

No. Both churches are strong, healthy, and growing — financially and spiritually. This isn’t a decision born out of need; it’s one born out of calling. The Lord has led us to believe we can do more together than we ever could apart.

Every member of our staff is deeply valued, and that doesn’t change. Our staff is staying in place for the foreseeable future as we work through what this partnership means for long-term opportunities, and as we carry out everything already planned for the fall and early winter.

One exciting update: Pastor Paul is stepping into a new role on Radiant’s Leadership Development Team. He’ll now have an incredible opportunity to help raise up the next generation of church leaders, using the gifts God has blessed him with.

Pastor Paul’s final in-person sermon here will be on September 6th. To honor his years of faithful leadership, he’s been generously given a season of sabbatical – time for rest and renewal, and space for God to pour in fresh vision – ‘new wine in new wineskins.’ Following his sabbatical, Pastor Paul will join Radiant’s leadership team, focusing on teaching and leadership development.

Radiant has one Lead Pastor over the whole church, Pastor Aaron, whose focus is vision, mission, and primary teaching across every campus.

Each individual campus has its own Campus Pastor, whose focus is shepherding and caring for that campus’s flock, allowing for deeper, more personal connection with our church family. It’s one of the ways Radiant’s model prioritizes people care.

Pastor Eric will be stepping into the Campus Pastor role here in the interim, faithfully shepherding our church family while we prayerfully seek the Lord’s leading on who He’s calling to shepherd this flock long-term.

Pastor Paul is healthy and walking in total peace about this season. God has been at work in his life since last summer, directing his path and preparing his heart for what’s ahead. He’s genuinely excited about the future — both for himself and for what God is doing through this partnership with Radiant.

Radiant is non-denominational, just like Crosspoint. Crosspoint’s leadership has roots in the Baptist tradition, while Radiant’s leadership has roots in the Assemblies of God tradition — but both churches have intentionally chosen to be non-denominational for a number of shared reasons. That shared conviction is actually one more example of how aligned our two churches already are.

Our heart for people, our commitment to Scripture, and our passion for seeing lives changed aren’t going anywhere! We are still your local church in your local community. Those are the things that make us who we are, and they carry forward into this next chapter. Some of the ways we do ministry may grow and evolve over time, but our mission stays the same.

Yes. As part of becoming one church family, we’ll take on the Radiant name and logo. While the name on the building will change, what won’t change is the heart behind it: our love for this body of believers and community, our commitment to Scripture, and our passion for reaching people with the Gospel. We’re not losing our identity — we’re joining a bigger mission that we already believe in.A church was never the name on the building, it’s the family of God gathered inside it.

Yes! We’re excited to become Radiant’s 13th physical campus. Radiant already has locations across the Tampa Bay area, all sharing one mission: moving people toward Christ, community, and calling. Joining as a campus means we get to keep doing ministry right here, in our own neighborhood, while being part of something bigger.

• September 6th – Last service for Pastor Paul as Lead Pastor of Crosspoint Church
• September 13th – Official launch day as a new Radiant campus

We’ll continue to share updates as key dates and details are finalized. Our commitment is to keep communicating openly with you every step of the way — you won’t be left wondering what’s next.

Our services times are not changing and our worship team will continue leading live worship every Sunday, right here at our campus. What will be new is that the weekly sermon will be delivered through live video teaching broadcasting from South Tampa, connecting us with the same message being taught across every Radiant campus. Occasionally, throughout the year we’ll also have live teaching from the Campus Pastor. It’s a beautiful picture of one church family, all across our region, gathered around God’s Word together — and it’s part of what fuels the depth of conversation happening in Groups and our other ministries each week. Same heart, same mission, now experienced alongside an even bigger church family.

Yes! Our Kids Team will continue teaching kids live and in person, just like they do now. Live teaching has actually been a goal across all of Radiant’s campuses, and our team’s experience puts us in a great position to help. We’re excited to partner with Radiant to build the training and systems that could bring this same live experience to even more campuses going forward.

Our kids and youth ministries continue on, and we get to do it now alongside Radiant Kids and Radiant YTH — ministries that share our same passion for helping the next generation know and love Jesus.

Yes! Groups, Fight Club, Dwell: Gather, Fight Night, Dwell Conference, and more will happen exactly as planned. We don’t want you to miss a beat — the ministries and events you’re already invested in are moving forward right on schedule.

We’re still called to be the hands and feet of Jesus — reaching the lost, welcoming the new, and caring well for our church family. What is changing is the name: moving forward, our serve team will be known as the Dream Team, joining a family of servants across every Radiant campus who share that same calling.
