4 Family Vitals
Matthew 7:24-27
24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
You won’t lead your family well without being led by God’s word first.
Psalm 128:1-6 ESV
”1. Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways!
2. You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.
3. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.
4.Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord.
5.The Lord bless you from Zion! May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life!
6.May you see your children’s children! Peace be upon Israel!“
Vital for your family to be:
- Strong in Worship
1 Chronicles 16:23 “Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Tell of his salvation from day to day.”
When worship can be heard in your home, God’s presence can be experienced in your family.
Question for your family: Where and when in my home can we worship together?
2. Strong in the Word
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Your quality of life will depend on God’s word in your life.
Question for your family: Where and when in my home can we read the Bible together?
3. Strong in Relationship
Romans 12:10 NIV ”Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.“
Think less about what you want and more about what your family needs.
Question for your family: Where and when in my home can we connect together?
4. Strong in Prayer
Colossians 4:2 ESV ”Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it thanksgiving.“
Question for your family: Where and when in my home can we pray together.
