Women’s Devotional – Day 13

Crosspointlive   -

The enemy is great at whispering lies and stirring a small insecurity into a stronghold and he is working overtime to stop us to become the woman God is calling us to be.

God is calling us towards heaven, yet so many of us get stuck spinning our wheels in the lies and we end up feeling unsure of who we are. That’s exactly where the enemy wants us! Feeling small and unsure of ourselves.

God is asking us to align our hearts with his, captivate our wild thoughts and make them obedient to Him. He wants us to raise the standard for ourselves and the people we surround ourselves with while making some bold moves forward in faith!

The good thing is that you are not alone, we are all scared and insecure in our own unique ways and we see story after story in the Bible where people are questioning themselves. But what they also had in common was to trust God and step out in faith even though they didn’t feel qualified.

One of those stories is about Moses. God asked him to lead the people out of Egypt and into the promised land and the first thing Moses said to God was “Who am I to do this?”

Exodus 3:11-12

But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”

12 And God said, “I will be with you.”

He questioned God, yet with grace God comforted him saying “I will be with you.”

This is such an amazing reminder of our God and that he see the potential in us that we so quickly question and back away from.

How often do we feel called to something and then we brush it off with a “who am I to do this?”

What we forget to remember is that change starts with a DECISION. It’s a decision to TRUST our God and not letting the constant whispers of fear win.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Ask yourself today if you are going to align your heart with the enemy’s lies or if are you going to stand firm in Gods truth and actively choosing to work on becoming the woman God is calling you to be?

Guided Prayer:

Dear Lord, I pray for the moments I find myself in Moses shoes wondering “who am I to do this?” For the moments I feel stuck in my fears and insecurities to remember to look up and posture myself for your purpose in my life.

I pray that you help me see the vision of my best self that is rooted in You.

God, break every stronghold that is keeping me stuck on the sidelines of my life. Help me forgive myself and others, help me get courageous just like you helped Moses.

Father, thank you for all that you are, and for your patience as you are molding us into the woman you created us to be. We are thankful for this community, this church and in the season we are in right now. We love you, we trust you and we thank you. In Jesus name we pray, Amen!

1 Peter 5:8-10

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
