Women’s Devotional – Day 9

Crosspointlive   -

Society says I am someone that really does not matter. I do not have a Social Media presence, I do not have a prestigious career, I am not beautiful, skinny, rich, or particularly smart…but, I am loved!

Even when no one else loves me, God does!

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Even when my kids say I am “the meanest mom in the whole world” (a title I hold dear!), even when my boss does not give me the performance review I think I should get, even when my husband thinks I am wrong (really?) and wants to argue about it, even when my best friend is not acting like my best friend…I know that through it all, I am a child of God – I am His daughter and I matter! (Galatians 3:26)

Being a wife and mother is the hardest job on the face of the planet (is that ALL YOU DO????) It’s usually a thankless job and one you do not know if you did well until years later.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

I matter and you matter, to those around you and most importantly to our Heavenly Father – God Almighty, He sees you, He hears you and He has His arms around you!

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Remember the quote: “To the world, you may be one person, but to one person, you may be the world”?

Think about that.

Who in your life might that apply to? (co-worker, neighbor, friend, sibling…)

How can you improve that relationship (because you DO matter)?
When the enemy says I do not matter, what do I do?

Tools to use:

  • Read God’s word
  • Pray
  • Seek godly counsel

Guided Prayer:

Lord, I come before you and ask you to open my eyes so that I can see myself the way that you see me. You love me with an everlasting love and accept me as I am and as I am becoming through your grace and mercy by faith. Help me to block out the voices of the enemy that tell me that I do not matter or am not enough. You love me, you have a plan for my life and you will be with me on the journey as I keep my eyes on you. I love you too. Amen
