Proverbs 13

Crosspointlive   -

Some mornings, before my feet even hit the floor, I feel behind juggling breakfast, refereeing sibling squabbles, answering emails, and trying to remember where I left my coffee. In the middle of it all, I find myself wondering: Am I walking in wisdom or just walking in circles? Life pulls us in a thousand directions motherhood, marriage, ministry, work and yet, in the quiet spaces, God gently reminds us: wisdom isn’t about doing more but about choosing well. Proverbs 13 offers timeless guidance for women like us those wearing many hats, leading in love, and longing to build homes rooted in truth. Wisdom begins with a teachable heart, flows through our words, and grows in the company we keep. And while the load may feel heavy, the promise is clear: “if we walk with the wise, we will become wise.” Proverbs 13:20

Proverbs 13 offers gold for women like us busy, purpose-driven, and deeply invested in our families and callings.

Wisdom begins with a teachable heart. As a wife and mom, I’m reminded that the posture I model one of humility and willingness to grow is often what my daughters imitate most.

What I speak into my girls, my husband, my clients, and even into myself has power. My words can either nourish or tear down. I’m learning to let grace and truth guide my tongue, especially on the tough days.

In marriage, motherhood, and business, there’s wisdom in the pause pausing to pray before reacting, to listen before responding. God is teaching me that self-control in speech is not weakness, but strength under His guidance.

In a world that rewards image over integrity, I pray that my daughters see me value truth over trend, character over convenience. The truth has a beauty all its own.

I don’t have to know everything. Seeking counsel whether from my husband, mentors, or other godly women isn’t failure; it’s faith in action.

There’s blessing in obedience, even when it’s uncomfortable. I’m reminded that my obedience to God ripples into my home, my business, and the legacy I leave.

God’s Word is my wellspring. No matter how chaotic my day gets, time in Scripture anchors me. Even if it’s five minutes in the carpool line His wisdom refreshes me.

Discipline isn’t just for our kids. God lovingly corrects me too through His Word, through conviction, and yes, sometimes through the still, small voice that whispers, “That’s not My best for you.”

I need wise women around me – friends who pray with me, challenge me, and remind me of who I am in Christ. Community shapes character.

Love and discipline go hand in hand. As I raise two daughters, I’m learning that consistency and grace are not opposites. They’re both part of love in action.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the wisdom of Your Word. Help me to walk it out in the midst of my busy days. Let my heart remain teachable, my words be seasoned with grace, and my life reflect Your truth. Give me strength to lead my home with love, my business with integrity, and to walk in wisdom for the sake of those who follow behind me. Amen.
