Proverbs 16

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3

Notice how the very first word in this verse is “Commit”? It doesn’t say to wait and see how things play out then commit. It doesn’t say to make sure you’re comfortable then commit. It doesn’t say to check if the next step seems within reach then commit. No, it simply says, “Commit.” Commit to Jesus FIRST in all that you do, and He will lead you, guide you, and equip you to walk with Him. He can do the impossible!

As women of God, it is our goal to please our Heavenly Father. We want to follow His will, represent Him well, and reflect His light in every area of our lives. But let’s be honest, sometimes, that’s easier said than done.

True commitment means offering our whole heart to Him, surrendering every part of ourselves before He begins the transforming work in us. And that first step, letting go of control, and giving Him our hearts, is  often the hardest. It means releasing what we love, what we want control over, the things we’re anxious about, the unknowns, and even the fears we try to hide. It means trusting Jesus without all the answers, having BLIND commitment confident that He’s already working things out behind the scenes.

Commitment is a daily choice. Some days, I find myself needing to commit more than once. It’s about starting our day with honesty before the Lord, having those heart-to-heart conversations with Him before we take on whatever lies ahead. When our hearts are aligned with His, we’re better able to discern His will, hear His voice, and walk in step with His Spirit. That’s how we advance His Kingdom and glorify Him in our lives.

Choosing full surrender opens the door for God to move. Trust Him in every area, and watch what He can do with a heart fully devoted to Him.

When we have a heart for Jesus and place our faith in Him, it sets the tone for everything else. Being of Christ fuels our actions for Christ! Let the Gospel renovate your heart it all starts there. And remember, He’s not finished with you yet. He’ll continue shaping and growing you until the day you join Him in glory.

So TRUST Him! He is your protector. His plan is good. He has already equipped you for whatever comes next. He can, and will do so much through our humble obedience. As we learn more about His character and His will, our ability to follow Him grows stronger. Everything we do flows from our hearts so let our hearts be fully His. Commit with confidence, trust your Father who is for you, and lay it all at His feet. Just let Him work, knowing He doesn’t waste the tough moment of surrender.

Here are some extra verses that strongly remind me of this truth.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”Proverbs 4:23

“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.”Matthew 12:33

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well”Matthew 6:33

Prayer

Heavenly Father,
I commit myself fully to You and to the plans You have for my life. Help me to surrender completely, even when I feel confused, unaware of the next step, afraid, or overwhelmed by my circumstances. Help me to remember Lord, that nothing is bigger than You, and you have already established my steps. In those moments of fear, anger, or doubt, help me to choose to lean on you. Teach me to commit to You blindly, knowing that You are present and your guidance is what I need. Lead me, direct my steps, and use my life to spread Your love and shine Your light wherever I go.

I love You, and I trust You Lord.

In Jesus name, Amen!
