Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving gives us a beautiful opportunity to slow down, notice God’s goodness, and practice thankfulness together as a family.
Scripture Focus
Psalm 107:1 (ESV)
“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!”
Family Conversation Prompts
Use these simple questions throughout the week (try around the table, in the car, or before bedtime) to help your kids reflect on God’s goodness.
- What’s one thing God gave you today that you’re thankful for
- Who is someone you’re thankful for, and why?
- When do you feel closest to God? How can we thank Him for that?
Family Activity Ideas
Keep it simple and structured around natural rhythms you already have this week.
Gratitude Jar
Each person writes down one thing they’re thankful for every day this week. Help littles draw pictures and add the words for them. Read them aloud on Thanksgiving.
Thankful Walk
Take a short walk as a family and point out things in creation that show God’s goodness.
Encouragement Cards
Make simple cards for a neighbor, teacher, or family member saying, “I’m thankful for you because…”
Blessing Prayer at Dinner
Go around the table and let each person pray one sentence starting with:
“God, thank You for…”
