Day 6: The Cost Jesus Paid
Scripture:
Romans 5:8 – but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Devotional:
Jesus never asked you to pay a price He wasn’t willing to pay Himself. He paid fully (body, blood, and life) so you wouldn’t have to keep paying with your soul.
The cross proves two things: your life is worth everything to God and freedom always comes at a cost. Jesus absorbed that cost so you could stop bleeding for things that never satisfy.
He didn’t die to improve your behavior. He died to restore your life.
Reflection Questions:
- What does the cross tell you about your value to God?
- Where are you still trying to earn what Jesus already paid for?
Action Step:
- Spend time today thanking Jesus specifically for what He saved you from and what He gave you.
Prayer:
Father, Thank you is not enough. Thank You for paying the price I never could. Thank you for loving me, even when it’s been hard to love myself. Help me live free, not striving, and trust fully in what You’ve done. Amen.
